Elaeocarpus grandis (Blue Quandong) has finished fruiting but - TopicsExpress

Elaeocarpus grandis (Blue Quandong) has finished fruiting but fortunately fresh fruit is not needed for germination (unlike most rainforest plants). All you need are old fleshless stones and a 100 mm nail. Drive the nail down the the hole at the stalk end of the stone until the five segments fall apart. Check a few to see that they are viable, ie have oblong chestnut-coloured seeds (some stones are just woody without seeds). If they look good then process the rest, just cracking the stone enough to open the segments slightly. This will allow the seeds to imbibe and they will germinate in a couple of weeks. Cover them well because rats are very keen on them. Alternatively, cuttings strike readily.
