Elders are put into the church as leaders... the word leader is to lead, to lead means that people must follow you. Elders being leaders together with the youth leader and worship leader are suppose to have people following there example of church living AND also there general living not jus aspects concerning church... lets look at Titus 2 from verse 1 to 4, specific instructions given to the church on how their leaders should lead there young men and women influencing then not only concerning the church but also in their natural lives, the leaders in the church are to influence those that are in the church positively setting a good example and also providing a platform for these said individuals to have the opportunity to follow and be influenced by the leaders where they would gain the knowledge and wisdom that that leader has therefore empowering them, but there is no platform created by the leaders today as the works of the leaders are in a slumber, it has become a dispute for position rather than for the hand in the body to work its full purpose, thus causing our young to be influence by other factors outside the church and then we question why are the youth rebelling... you might change and then you say you have a problem of the young men and women dont want to follow, but be patient because all this time they didnt have this influence available, give them time to realise they need this and God will convict them and soon enough they will follow you( folow in the sense of Elijah and Elisha - like Jesus and his disciples). God is speaking! If you cannot serve your purpose God will raise up stones to do what you cannot! Take heed all you leaders this is your revelation may you be convicted in Jesus Christ Holy name Amen
