as Helen Mary Caldicott says Very exciting ... most assuredly! ... we dont see this kind of truth in the main stream media to include the all of the above the King CONG (Coal.Oil.Nuclear.Gas) as Harvey Wasserman would say ... too bad its taken 7 decades to make its RISE to the front page ... now if they can just get the democratization of power to the people one solar panel at a time or as Sandy LeonVest of SolarTimes.org says, we cannot just talk about sustainability or renewable energy, in the absence of a bigger conversation about who owns that energy. And, of course, the almost non-existent conversation about who owns the transmission grid needs to go public -- in a Big Way. What is happening in Detroit has happened -- and is happening -- in other parts of the US. Promoting solar power is great, but we need to be talking WAY more about, not only what KIND of power we generate, but who OWNS that power. Thats why SolarTimes has, over the years, broadened its vision (and its conversation) to include Energy Democracy and the democratization of ALL resources. Solar power is an important piece of a sustainable future, but, in the absence of a broader -- more democratic -- vision, all the mega-solar plants in the world wont save us. -- slv
