This afternoon, I was invited to address seniors at the AMICA City Centre Seniors Residence. Thanks to the initiative and efforts of Matilda Presner. Apparently, only seven of the 16 registered candidates for mayor have bothered to accept this invitation. I had a great opportunity for a lively discussion with interested seniors who were taken with my views on fighting traffic gridlock and the politically incorrect reality that we need a moratorium on immigration to address both Canadas chronic unemployment problems and the horrific traffic gridlock in both Mississauga and Vancouver. Tonight I attended a Ward 5 (Malton) all candidates (for Mayor, ward councillor and school trustee) meeting at Morningstar Middle School, sponsored by the Malton Community Building Project and the Malton Black Development Association. The meeting was chaotic; the sound terrible. Six candidates for Mayor showed up. Additionally, representatives for Bonnie Crombie and Steve Mahoney did not participate in the give and take but were allowed to read lengthy statements. [Mr. Mahoneys mother died and the funeral is tomorrow.] We six candidates were hemmed in with incredibly short time limits and were asked to respond to different questions. We didnt each get a chance to answer the same question. Still, I managed to get across my twin messages: being the motorists friend with fighting traffic gridlock as priority number one and being a new form of leadership intending to shake up Mississauga City Hall to put respect for taxpayers first.
