Elementary Weekly Announcements: Week of May 5, 2014 BOX TOP COLLECTION-Last Collection for the School Year: Students who have turned in their Box Tops can begin redeeming their “Free Dress” coupons on Tuesday & Thursdays only through May 29. Elementary SAT Testing: SAT Testing for Elementary Is This Week: Eat a good breakfast Gets a good night’s sleep Please make sure your child is on time for school Pre-School Enrollment: The Pre-School Office is accepting Re-enrollment packets. They would like to provide an opportunity for families currently enrolled in CCCS or in the process of enrolling in CCCS to have priority in our Pre-school before Open Enrollment begins. If you are interested, please call the Pre-school Office at 562.299.9100 to obtain an enrollment packet as soon as possible. Early Dismissal – Friday, May 9: The Elementary will be on “½ Day Schedule”. Daycare is available. School ends at 12:00pm. All students will need to be picked up by 12:15pm Students not picked up by 12:15 will be signed-in to Daycare. Students that do not have a sack lunch or pre-purchased lunch will be given an “emergency lunch” Fees begin at 3:30pm Downey Kids’ Day:Need some family time? Load up the van and head to Apollo Park on Saturday, May 10 from 10am – 4pm. We will have a full day of games, food, sharing the Gospel with the CCD Puppet Team and much more. CCCS will be hosting an info booth. There are many activities going on…come join us. Teacher Appreciation Week: Teacher Appreciation Week is May 12 – May 16. The following are some suggestions if your child would like to honor their teacher during this week: Have your child write a note Have your child draw a picture for their teacher, sharing a highlight of their school year Have your child pray for their teacher Have your child write out their favorite scripture and give it to the teacher Have your child bring a baked good or a treat for their teacher No School Friday, May 16: Due to Teacher Appreciation Day, there will be no school on Friday, May 16. However, Daycare is available from 6:30am to 5:30pm. Your tuition account will be billed. You must sign your child up in the School Office by Thursday, May 15. Music and Youth Concert - Thursday, May 22: Come and enjoy performances by Calvary Chapel Christian School’s Elementary and Middle School Choirs, Bands and Violin Classes as they have prepared a special performance for parents, families and friends. The Music and Youth (M.A.Y.) Concert event will be in our Main Sanctuary at 6:30pm. Grizzly Fun Festival: Tuesday, June 10: We are almost at the finish line for the school year and what a way to end with our Grizzly Fun Festival! Last year was our first end of the year festival and it was a hit! An information/ permission flyer is in your child’s Monday Folder. Parent help is welcome. We look forward to ending the school year together as a family. Please return form and money to your child’s teacher by Friday, May 23. Pay in Full Tuition Accounts 2014-2015: If you are planning to take advantage of the pay in full discount for your 14/15 tuition, then please bring your payment to the school, and do not pay it directly to Smart Tuition. As a reminder, the deadline for the 5% discount is June 30, and the deadline for the 3% discount is August 15, 2014.
