Emenike tears his nigerian passport and called nigeria a zoo A man who travelled to France with a Nigerian Passport with the name Nwonfor Emenike Micheal has dissociated himself from Nigeria and has destroyed his travel document to prove a point, He physically tore and denigrated the emblem of Nigeria owing to his belief in an anticipated state of Biafra in his words “I refuse to be associated with evil (Nigeria), I refuse to identified with anything that has to do with a ZOO(Nigeria), I refuse to be connected with any form of corruption(Nigeria), I refuse to have anything to do with demons(Nigeria). I tear my passport as a sign of protest against the contraption called Nigeria. This contraption not only been corrupt but also have expired, Where bomb exploding is not new, where killing of Christians everyday have become order of the day, where stealing by politician and public servants it’s normal. I reject this country and heaven will never forgive me if i have anything to do with this country, The soul of my brothers and sister killed between 1967 to 1970 will also never forgive me. Long live indigenous people of Biafra. Long live Biafra”. Republic of Biafra, was a secessionist state in south-eastern Nigeria that existed from 30 May 1967 to 15 January 1970, taking its name from the Bight of Biafra, an unrecognized republic in the forced Nigerian confederacy. The inhabitants were mostly the Igbo people who led the secession due to economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tensions among the various peoples of Nigeria. The creation of the new state that was pushing for recognition was among the causes of the Nigerian Civil War, also known as the Nigerian-Biafran War. Several attempts by the sect to secede have been met stiff resistance by the Federal government of Nigeria and have been considered as a rebellion. Here the man in video is making a point to galvanise the Biafran people into this belief while stating his disloyalty to the Nigerian government and everything that represents Nigeria. The underlying motivation for his action is the unchanging image and the oppression that has blighted every recovery of the Nigerian government I hope he will have no course whatsoever to visit the Nigeria which he was seen denigrating, because the vengeful owners of the passport would be waiting as Freedom of speech is an expensive commodity for now
