@@........Employees protest in all districts, reiterates call for ‘Raj Bhavan Chalo’.......@@ Government employees under the banner of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) Friday staged peaceful protest demonstrations at all 22 district headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir in support of their pending demands. Official Sources told GNS that employees presented a memorandum to respective Deputy Commissioners with regard to their unfulfilled demands. JCC senior leader and President EJAC (Q) Qayoom Wani confirmed to GNS that the demonstrations were held at all district headquarters on Friday. He also reiterated call for complete pen down strike on Saturday. “All the employees will start to assemble at Sher-i-Kashmir Park at 11:30 am from wherea march will be taken out towards Raj Bhavan (Governor House) as already announced,” Qayoom Wani told Global News Service. He said the government has violated its promises by not implementing the September 15, 2011 agreement signed between the employees’ leadership and the government. “Unless the demands are not met the employees will continue with their struggle.” JCC, which spearheads the agitation, is demanding extension of the retirement age of employees from 58 to 60 years, regularization of daily wagers and removal of pay anomalies in the clerical cadre, besides budgetary support for public sector undertakings. On June 10, the march towards Civil Secretariat Jammu was foiled by the police by detaining hundreds of employees.
