Discover how we can be Better Together at cargill. Description Cargill Metals Supply Chain is involved in the global trading, distribution and processing of steel mill consumables and products. These products include: hot rolled steel coils, steel billets, iron ore and scrap. Through offices worldwide, it serves mills, processors and end users. Cargill Metals operates steel service centers in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. These facilities process flat-rolled steel for use by industrial manufacturers in making products such as storage tanks, lawn mowers, metal furniture and oil filters. The raw steel products can be leveled and cut to length, or slit to meet customer specifications. Position Overview and Principal Accountabilities: This position will make disposition of rejected steel, maintain the databases of Safety and Maintenance activity, and perform general clerical tasks for production management. Principal Accountabilities: 25% - Inspect rejected steel and make disposition accordingly. Assist in coordinating and conduct Quality System audits. 20% - Update RCI system on a daily basis for Safety and Maintenance administration. 20% - Material allocation - Match master coils with production orders and schedule the temper mill accordingly. Serve as back up only for vacations and sick days 10% - Organize and conduct safety training. Maintain safety training records. 5% - Enter daily production data 10% - Test Results Verification EC and GC - Supplement current individual for absences and volume growth. 10% - Perform general clerical tasks as directed by the plant manager. Maintain HR files. Create POs for all plant purchases. Assist in locating needed parts and supplies. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or GED 2 years experience within the metal industry Preferred: Graduate from a technical school or AAS degree StelPlan experience of at least one year Hot roll steel service center experience in Sales, Scheduling or Production of at least one year At least one year of experience MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
