This was an official photograph of most of the Marines from both 2nd Platoon Recon Teams. A couple of the regulars are missing and there are a couple augmentees from other platoons in the picture as well. It was the only time we ever went out with helmets and flak jackets and the occasion for such a large patrol was to be a blocking force at the end of a valley to ambush the NVA that a Battalion of the 5th Marines was pushing that way in an operation.
