Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta Development/Events Manager Full-Time 37.5hrs/week- Calgary Salary & benefits The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta is a collaborative partner with community agencies/organisations in advocating on behalf of individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. We are a leader in delivering programs and services, educating and providing information on treatment and resources relating to cerebral palsy and other disabilities in the province of Alberta. The Development and Events Manager is responsible for the overall management, strategy, and delivery of successful fundraising and donor recognition events. The position includes planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating all fundraising and donor event activities, projects, and promotions to maximize income. The Development & Events Manager will report to the Director of Development and work closely with the Development and Marketing teams; as well as the volunteer coordinator and practicum/summer students in the planning and implementation of all events. A Commitment to team work and the ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings will be required. Responsible for the roll-out and outcomes of events, along with maintaining registration/participant online software. Responsibilities: ► Working with the Development Team in all areas of internal and external fundraising & community events ► Working with committees, internal/external stakeholders to ensure event goals are met ► Assisting with all event logistics – AV equipment, entertainment, ticket/table sales, auction item solicitation/obtaining auction items and prizes/ follow up ,pre/ post event duties, event budgets; being creative in new ways to generate increased attendance/dollars raised for annual & community events; dealing with donors, event sponsors and grantors; displays and presentations; community booths and cold calling ► Liaising with the Grants/Admin Coordinator to ensure stewardship information is correct and given within a timely manor ► Creating new events/ideas and approaching potential host groups ► Marketing of events via multiple social media platforms ► Overseeing the Events Coordinator for all events ►Working within the budget guidelines and finalizing the budgets after events ►Seeking out potential relationships, arranging presentations, preparing materials, cold calling, meets with groups for third party events ►Creating and overseeing the online fundraising and events sites ►Ensuring all information pertaining to fundraising and events is uploaded to our agency database ► Complying with CPAA policies and procedures ► Performing other tasks as assigned by Director of Development Qualifications: ► Relevant combination of qualifications and experience in both fundraising and events ► Not-for-profit experience is desired ► Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management experience, preferably donor management software ► Excellent oral and written communication ► Ability to organize and prioritize work ► Excellent interpersonal skills ► Valid Alberta Driver’s license and reliable transportation Application procedure If you feel you comply with the requirements, please submit your resume and cover letter, including your salary expectations, preferably by e-mail, to: mariana@cpalberta We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those under consideration will be contacted.
