End of another political drama. The Congress core committee has decided to withdraw the contrversial ordinance which cleared by the government disquqlifying convicted people from contesting elections and removing them from legislative bodies. The much debated decision came when Rahul Gandhi expressed concerns about the ordinance while the PM was on a foriegn trip. The Amul baby said that public opinion is against the decision. The decision is relevent in this present political scenario. At last the ruling Congress party has realized about the political situation of the country that public opinion is against the wish of the party. There are many other aspects of this decision which lead to further suspicion. When the government took the decision the prepare the ordinance where was Mr Rahul Gandhi? Is he not a part of Congress and the government? Why the government is rethinking about the decision only when this Amul baby spoke against it? Is there anybody other than him in that party who can take decision according to the public opinion? Or it was mere a dramma organised by the government and party to project Rahul as game changer? What is the credibility of the government and cabinet which reconsider its decision on the basis of just a news conference? If Rahul had another opinion why did not he said in the party? What is use of creating all these drama interferig the press conference by Ajay Makan and saying its against public wish? If this decision is against the public opinion then where was this Amul baby when the goverment took decision to implement many anti-people policies such as Indo US nuclear deal, FDI in the retail sector, cutting of subsidies on petroleum products and LPG? All these question confirms about the political drama by Mr Amul Gandhi. Now people of the country will answer for all this dramma in the next general elections. There is coordination between the government and the party. The government is completely cornered. In the next elections all culprits will be beaten. The government should have discussed the bill in the Parliament. But it did not took the apex legislative body of the country in confidence. All the Congress who were justifying the ordinance have taken a U turn. Shame on you Congress men. Now the future of the ordinance on hold. The issues raised by the CPM and other left parties is significant here. It had raised issues about the power of the Parliament and legislave bodies. When supreme court had asked the goverment to ban the covicted people it suddenly prepred the ordinance which ammends the law. Insted the government should have put up the bill in the parliament and made conclusion. There should enough time interval given for approaching higher courts before disquqlifying members. The ultimate decision should have come from legislatve insted of judiciary exceeding the powers of legislature. There should no judicial activism or executive activism becuse ultimate authority belongs to the body which is elected by the people of the country. If the it goes against public opinion the people will have the final verdict in the elections.
