Entries Sought for “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” Performance Contest... “Could It Be ….” YOU Could Be A Star? From the first day the Spinners performed it 40 years ago, it was destined to become a timeless, American classic. A product of the collaborative genius of western Pennsylvania’s own Melvin and Mervin Steals, “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” became an instant hit and a musical treasure still loved and enjoyed today. To help mark the 40th anniversary of their song, the Brothers Steals are inviting you to join in the fun and festivities by submitting your rendition of “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” for a chance to perform it at a celebration at the August Wilson Center for African-American Culture in downtown Pittsburgh, the evening of Nov. 9, 2013. It’s easy to enter. Individuals or groups simply need to upload their version of “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” to [email protected]. All entries will be viewed by a panel of judges—including Melvin and Mervin themselves!—and the one chosen most entertaining will win the performers an invitation to reprise it on stage and to meet the Steals Brothers, Eddie Holman, Johnny Angel and the Halos and others.
