Episode 151 Kay woke up the following morning. She felt exhausted, she wasnt sure if it was the sofa she had slept on or it was the emotional roller coaster she has been through. She stretched herself and went into the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth. When she got out, Nakuti was awake playing with her Barbie. She kissed her daughter on the cheek. They brought her food in. She began to feed her, even though it was difficult. Nakuti: No mommy you must clap your hands and say good girl Nana. Khanyisa: Hiyo mntanam nzayigqiba nini lonto. Nakuti sat back on her bed and sulked. Khanyisa: Ok ke baby..e. Nakuti got up and opened her mouth...Khanyisa fed her, she swallowed. Nakuti: “Now clap mommy.” Khanyisa clapped. (thinking): “Andi yazi ke le Nkosi yam.” But she had no choice...these were the joys of motherhood. She had to bear it and grin it as she hadn’t spent much time with her anyway, so it was make-up-for time. She finally finished feeding her. When she was done...she took her to the bathroom to clean her up. She dressed her in a change of clothing that Sizwe had brought with him. Nakuti’s doctor came. She told Khanyisa, that she will be discharging Nakuti and she is happy with her progress, so she can recover from home. In two days they should come back to take off the cast. Khanyisa was now emotionally settled. Khanyisa: “What a week it has been.” Nakuti was discharged. Khanyisa called Sizwe to find out where he was. They drove to Sizwe’s place. She went in his complex, parked and went to knock at his door. He was taking too long to come to the door. Nakuti sat on the stoep. Nakuti: “Where’s daddy?” she was becoming impatient. Khanyisa: “He is coming baby...wait a little neh.” Sizwe came to the door, in his boxers and a vest, rubbing his eyes. Khanyisa: “Hiyu...you nearly didn’t open and you know that sugar plum can be a diva when she gets impatient.” Sizwe: “Oh...hey...I am sorry. I wasn’t expecting you, just as yet.” Khanyisa: “No...no problem. Anyway we are here now.” Sizwe, stood by the door... Khanyisa: “Move kaloku, sizongena.” Sizwe shifted: “Err...ya...sure.” Khanyisa and Nakuti went in. Khanyisa went to put Nakuti’s things in the guest room, she slept in. Sizwe was standing by the entrance door of the guest room, just watching her every move. Khanyisa looked at him. Khanyisa: “What?” Sizwe: “About?” Khanyisa: “You are staring at me...it’s rude.” Sizwe: “Err...want to ask you something.” Khanyisa: “Ewe.” Sizwe: “Can you have Nakuti today, then I will come and fetch her from you, tomorrow?” Khanyisa felt like screaming. She was really counting on sleeping over at Sizwe’s place, just to spite JP and to avoid being in that house, especially with Thando, The Mumbani’s and JP’s Ex who could be carrying JP’s child.” Khanyisa: “Hiyo...Sizwe. So now I have to go to Kyalami joe?” Sizwe: “I am sorry, but something has come up.” Khanyisa: “Oh okay.” She got up and packed Nakuti’s things. She then called Mbali, to ask if she could use her place. She was annoyed, because ngoku ingathi ngumntu ongana ndawo, enayo. Khanyisa: “Men are such an inconvenience in our lives, sometimes. Nxa.” Luckily Mbali agreed...after giving her a list of what to do and not to do. That was Mbali for you, but Kay understood ukuthi, what type of person her friend was. So it was cool. Khanyisa then explained to Nakuti, that they are going to a different place. Even doing that was breaking Khanyisa’s heart. This was a bad impression to her daughter...so dodgy on so many levels. She took her things and Nakuti’s. She called on Sizwe to come and open. Then she heard a female voice. Female voice: “He is coming chill!” shouting through Sizwe’s bedroom door. Khanyisa felt herself burning with anger...that whoever that is why do they feel the need to talk shit? Khanyisa stood in front of Sizwe’s door, waiting for him to open, so that she can deal with the heffer ezenza forward. Sizwe opened...Khanyisa pushed him out of the way, went in and frowned... Khanyisa: “Okay...It’s not even worth it.” Sizwe: “Eish...I can explain.” Khanyisa: “No don’t, I don’t expect any less from her anyway. She has done this all her life so I am not surprised...Wow.” Khanyisa looked back at the girl....”Bye bye Unathi.” Khanyisa drove to Mbali’s place in Killarney. She used the code that Mbali had given her. She went in, parked in Mbali’s parking space. Nakuti was sleeping at the back. She took her out, went to the apartment, placed Nakuti on the bed and covered her with a throw. She went back outside took one suitcase out of the car, hand bag and toiletries. She went back inside the apartment. The time was now around 12:00 mid day. She went to take a thorough bubble bath. She needed it. When she was done, she got out of the bath to get dressed. She put on torn jeans, white vest and a grey waterfall cardigan and Ipanema sandals. She took out her manicure set, sat in the lounge, placed them on the table. She took her phone, she wanted to call her mom and tell her, what she had seen at Sizwe’s place, but nah. She did not want to involve her mom in anymore of her drama. She called Mbali to tell her everything was fine. Mbali was relieved... Khanyisa: “You worry too much...you need to relax chomie.” Mbali: “Me? Relax? You are asking too much of me. Anyway heard about Thato’s house warming?” Khanyisa: “Yep...but I say we three, need to meet before that.” Mbali: “Ya...that is a good idea hey.” Khanyisa: “So...what are we getting her?” Mbali: “You know Thato is particular...I think we should buy her a voucher from @home or something.” Khanyisa: “You are right, but then again, she is also sentimental...Oh I know, we can get her a voucher and we each both get her something with a personal touch.” Mbali: “Ok then...we’ll go before we go to see her.” Khanyisa: “Aight.” As Khanyisa was about to hang up. Mbali: “Kay?” Khanyisa: “What’s up...no don’t worry Mbali we won’t mess your place up.” Mbali: “No it’s not that...JP called earlier on.” Khanyisa: “And?” Mbali kept quiet. Khanyisa: “Please don’t tell me you told him, where I am. Flip dude!” Mbali: “I had to...he just sounded so you know, down and he literally begged. He is not my favourite person, but he was just so sad...” Khanyisa rolled her eyes...”Oh flipping great. He worked his weak ass charms on you.” Mbali: “I don’t think they are weak, because I fell for them.” Khanyisa: “I hate you Mbali...” Mbali: “Sorry chomie.” Khanyisa: “I think I should get super glue for your mouth as a wedding present. I swear. Ukhatywe esifubeni. Awuzenzi ngane yabantu.” Mbali: “I couldn’t help it; I am a romantic at heart.” Khanyisa: ‘Oh my word you and your white tendencies. What is done is done. Ok” They said their goodbyes and hung up. Khanyisa, sat on the couch, painting her toe nails, glass of red wine and Jasmine Sullivan, playing in the background at a low volume. She got up once in a while to check on Nakuti, who was sleeping as a log. Then it was getting late, she switched on the lights...and she was feeling hungry. She went to the fridge. Almost empty. She called Debonairs to deliver pizza. Khanyisa (thinking): “Eish must stop eating like this...I need to go back to the gym and burn all of this fat...” she sighed. Her phone rang...she rolled her eyes... Khanyisa: “Mr Mumbani.” JP: “Ok...that’s a first...I am outside please open.” Khanyisa: “I am not at Mbali’s sorry...I left.” JP: “You left your car?” Khanyisa (thinking): “Shit.” She continued “Err...ok. fine I am coming.” Khanyisa went to open for him. He had on a black DSquared Hoodie, white T-shirt, Replay faded black jeans and black Timbs. He gave her puppy eyes and a pout. She melted, even though she didn’t want to. She let him in. She pushed the door to close it...He stood in front of her, one hand behind his back, kissed her for dear life...It felt so good. Then he stretched out his other hand to her and there was a small jewellery box...
