Episode 48: OG Chino & Dread Daze UNSEEN LEGION RADIO has a strong commitment to preserving and spreading knowledge of Los Angeles hip-hop history. And so it was our great honor to host OG CHINO, former co-owner of B-Boy Records into the station, along with his lifelong friend NAJASHI, lead singer of the incredible reggae band, DREAD DAZE.We talked about his Korean/Colombian origins, his upbringing in the mean streets and how he was another of those whom hip-hop saved from a brutal (and possibly short) life. Chino is a staple in the L.A. hip-hop community, having worked with Def American, managed Kool Keith and Large Professor, among others, and having even run East Village Radio in New York for a short while before returning to L.A. The OG even got on the decks with his Serrato setup and gave us a taste of classic L.A. DJ Stylee. All in all, it was great conversation, with gems thrown in by all present.
