Episode Recap – 7/30/14 (contains spoilers from todays show) Liam and Hope continue to talk about the diamond and Hope says – this is just about the line. Liam says if you keep this, you are sending him a message. Aly says that Hope will do the right thing. Ivy doesn’t think it will be easy resisting a diamond like that and Aly says that Hope is committed to Liam. Ivy brings up the video and says it must be nice having two guys stumbling over just to be with you. Aly says that Wyatt is no prize and is sneaky and a master when it comes to manipulating Hope. Wyatt walks in and says thanks, Aly – it always warms my heart knowing I have your support. At Brooke’s, the doorbell rings and it’s Deacon. He asks if he can come in. Brooke lets him in and then tells him that Hope is not there. He says he’s there to see her. Wyatt tells Ivy that Aly can’t stand him but, he’s actually a really nice guy. Aly tells Ivy to check in with Liam and Wyatt says – his brother and him are getting along these days. Aly’s not buying it. Wyatt is glad they’re both there because they should be a part of this. Rick comes in and asks Wyatt what’s on his mind. Wyatt tells them a press conference and the reporters are on their way. Rick wants to know what Wyatt’s agenda is and he’s not liking any surprises. Wyatt says he’s prepared and needs his team around him. Rick asks for more reassurance and Wyatt says to go with him on this – he promises Rick won’t be sorry. He tells Rick it’s the next evolution for HFTF and Hope. Hope tells Liam this is not like an engagement thing. She tells Liam it’s for the line. Liam says – he should have never let his guard down with Wyatt. Hope says please don’t let this mess things up between the two of you – you just started acting like brothers. Liam says yes, and they are supposed to have this whole new understanding and already he’s being inappropriate giving her the diamond. Liam is questioning why Riccardo would even give it to Wyatt. Hope is trying to explain and Liam says – can you just send him a text or email and give it back. Carter, Maya and Oliver join Wyatt in the office and Carter questions this press conference. Rick says he doesn’t like going in blind. Wyatt says he has a way to put HFTF back on the map again. Ivy says it sounds intriguing. He says he made all the calls and reporters will be there shortly. Oliver says it’s risky going in without consensus and Wyatt says – he’s that sure that this is the right next step for the line. Wyatt assures them they won’t be sorry and tells them to get ready. It’s going to be a big day for their team. Deacon says it’s nice to be there without Bill around. They discuss Bill and what he’s done. Deacon starts talking about Bill again and Brooke says she’s not really comfortable talking about Bill. Deacon starts to talk about their (Deacon and Brookes) history together. Hope tells Liam this is not any diamond – it’s the HFTF diamond and talks about its “magic” to Liam. Liam doesn’t believe it and Hope brings up what it did for the line and Hope feels that she should hold on to it. Liam says, you believe this has magic powers because of what it did for your line and Hope says yes. Liam says – at that same time in their lives – their relationship was falling apart. He says that Wyatt is going to use this as a ploy to get Hope looking in his direction again. Hope doesn’t want Liam to see it that way. Liam says – but, that’s how it is. He says – shame on him for thinking Wyatt could behave in any other way. Liam tells Hope she has to give it back to him… today. Deacon says a lot went down between them and says he’s better than that guy now. He says he wants their daughter to be proud of them and says he’s humbled by Hope and can’t believe he had anything to do with the creation of that amazing woman. Brooke agrees. He says whatever they had to go through was worth it. Deacon asks Brooke if he’s heard about Wyatt’s latest and Brooke says she’s afraid to ask. He explains about the HFTF diamond and that Wyatt gave the diamond to Hope. They are setting up for the press conference and Carter watches Maya. Rick comes up and asks if he’s okay. He says – he was going to marry a woman he doesn’t even know and says – is she that good or am I that dumb. Rick says – she’s complicated and has had a tough life. Carter says it doesn’t make it okay to betray people that trust you. Rick agrees. Oliver and Aly talk and Oliver wants to make plans to hang out with his lady. He brings up how he came close to losing her and Aly tells him she’s right there. She glances at Wyatt and says he seems full of himself. They wonder about the announcement. Oliver walks away and Aly says – I wonder if this has something to do with the diamond. Liam tells Hope that they’re getting married and the only person she should be getting diamonds from is him. Hope says – this is not a commitment – it’s not a promise made. If it were, I would not be accepting it. This is business. This is for the line. Liam says – no. Hope says – Liam, this diamond is associated with the most success that HFTF has ever seen. Liam says – do you want to know what I see when I look at that diamond – you and Wyatt splashed all over everything. That’s how he sees it too – that’s what he’s counting on and if you accept this gift from him – you are sending mixed signals. The phone rings and it’s Wyatt. He asks Hope to come to the showroom right away and won’t tell her why. Hope hangs up and tells Liam and he says that’s great – it’s the perfect opportunity to give the diamond back. Liam says that if Hope keeps this diamond – Wyatt will see it as a form of encouragement and then they’ll be back where they started. Hope says – not if I make myself very clear. Liam sighs and says – they’re finally moving forward and on track to the life they always wanted and keeping that diamond sets them back. He says my brother is an operator and he just proved it. He says – he will take advantage like he always does. Liam says – he knows what he’s asking and he knows it has meaning to her but, if I didn’t think it was so important for us - I wouldn’t be. Hope says – okay, okay, I’ll give the diamond back. Liam says thank you and they kiss. Brooke doesn’t know how to react about this and keeps bringing up that Riccardo barely knew Wyatt. Brooke says that the jewel has a lot of symbolism for Hope and Wyatt and basically that’s how their relationship started. Deacon tells Brooke that Wyatt is hoping it’s going to happen again and Brooke says that Hope will not keep it. Deacon says it’s a gift. Brooke argues – it’s a diamond from Wyatt. They argue about the diamond more and Deacon says that she should wear it and flaunt it. Brooke says – you would say that – that’s why I’m going to advise her in this situation. Deacon says – well who would have more experience with being the most beautiful, most desirable woman in the world – men falling at your feet, offering you diamonds the size of Rhode Island. Brooke says – you’re flattering me and Deacon asks if it’s working. Brooke smiles. Everyone is gathered in the showroom and Jarret tries to get info but, Wyatt won’t tell him. Hope and Liam walk in to the showroom and wonder what’s going on. Liam thanks Hope again and Hope say – yes, she understands. Wyatt is glad they’re there and says now they can start. Hope asks what’s going on. He says press conference – big announcement. Hope and Liam are confused. He tells them to stay there and goes to the front and starts. He thanks everyone and then says he’s excited to announce the return of Hope and the HFTF diamond. The crowd gasps and Aly stares at him. He looks at Hope and Liam – who are uncomfortable. Wyatt explains about Riccardo and that the diamond was willed to him. Both Liam and Aly are angry. He tells Hope to come up there. She hands the diamond back and Wyatt holds it up. He tells Hope he promised he would give this to her one day. He says it’s hers – all you have to do is take it. Hope looks at him and Liam is angry watching. He says he’s offering Hope the HFTF diamond and Hope stares at him – not wanting to take it. He says – it’s all hers. She looks at Liam who throws his hands up in the air and then Hope smiles at the press and Wyatt smiles at her waiting for her to take it.
