Increase VO2 max for better endurance, increase metabolism, increase hormone balancing, etc. This is one of many reasons why we do short, intense workouts rather than long, low intense workouts. Dont get me wrong, long and low intense workouts are also important. We design our WODs very specifically so the benefits are much more significant in a much shorter period of time.
