Especially for Wanda Everett: A friend indeed! Something - TopicsExpress

Especially for Wanda Everett: A friend indeed! Something has been in my crawl for several days and my mind very much occupied thinking on this. What is a real hero? I have given this question much thought and have considered that everyone has their own ideal of what makes a hero, although at times maintaining a shallow and distorted view. Some heroes considered by some are Hollywood actors or professional athletes. Some idolize politicians or outspoken advocates. I believe that in faithfulness to our God, ourselves, and those we may consider a hero, we must truly understand what a hero is. I have my own opinion about what makes a hero but will withhold my definition as not to taint anothers. One small hint: A genuine hero more often than not goes unnoticed and unrecognized. They are not one who is fearless, but acknowledge fear must be overcome. Most importantly they place higher value on others than themselves. You want find this attitude much in Hollywood and Pro sports! Take a little time and think about who you consider a hero. Give attention to the above hint and you may be surprised to find your hero doesnt fit the profile. You may even have to reconsider who is worthy of being called your hero. Why is this important and does it really matter? Well, I believe so. The life we mold for ourselves is most likely the model our children will adopt. They need true heroes to look up to and we are their first example. Who we emulate is who our children emulate. Let us be the examples that are so needed in this world today. As we fine tune our now we secure our later since our future is in the hands of those we raise. God bless all who read this and may the Lord shine bright light upon you!
