Essentially the point of the article is if you want to just sell scripts, be derivative but in a slightly different way. But if you want to break the rules and do your own thing, then good luck cause no industry insider will ever finance it. Well, thanks for the luck...cause I refuse to be derivative. I dont want to write Die Hard in a ferris wheel or Lethal Weapon in a monastery. And thank you, I am not Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, Charlie Kaufman, Shane Black, or David Lynch...I am Will Vega and I write Will Vega scripts.
