Ethan is pretty puffy and swollen today. He doesnt really look like himself and has a small pressure sore on his back. The puffiness is a result of being on and off bypass a few times on Wednesday. The length of time in the OR doesnt help matters either. The good news is that he had a pretty good day! They were able to start to slowly wean him off some of the meds and turn down the settings on the vent. He was more sleepy today and didnt react to much, but he has had a rough few days so we will give him a pass. We could not be at a better place right now for Ethan. All of the doctors and nurses taking care of him are simply amazing and we are thankful for each and every one of them. They make us smile every day and their care and concern for Ethan (and the rest of us) is truly, truly appreciated.
