European Athlete of Year nominees will not include any athlete who has served two year doping suspension LAUSANNE (SUI): September saw the end of the 2014 summer track season with the IAAF Diamond League final in Brussels and also the IAAF Continental Cup in Marrakech, Morocco, with Team Europe triumphing at the latter event. All of Team Europe’s individual winners at the last IAAF World Series event of the year have been included in this month’s nominations. European Athletics is consequently pleased to announce that athletes from 12 different countries have been nominated for the September award. The voting will close on Friday 17 October at noon CET. No athlete who has previously served a two-year doping ban can be nominated for the European Athlete of the Month. Informs European Athletics.
