Even if youre not an MLP fan I recommend watching this video: https://youtube/watch?v=MsUO9fbQW_4 For those who do not completely understand the video, in MLP:FiM (My Little Pony: Friendship of Magic), the events portrayed in the animated music video you see here take place a millenia before the start of the TV Series. After long having her night ignored and herself shunned Princess Luna decides to take a different approach to garnering her subjects attention across the lands of Equestria and the various other countries and continents on their planet, for lack of a cannon name, Equus. The story was long debated amongst the fandom itself before we reached the beginning of Season 4 for MLP:FiM when the real legend was revealed. Where in which Celestia is entering the throne room where Princess Luna tells her to not take another step. Proceeding to ask her if she truly thought she would stand idly by as their subjects basked in her precious light. She then proceeds to say that there can be only one princess and she raises the moon to create a solar eclipse. Whereafter dark magic begins to take hold of her and turn her into the Mare in the Moon, Nightmare Moon. There then begins the fight between her and Celestia, knowing that Celestia could not defeat Nightmare Moon on her own, she uses the Elements of Harmony to in turn banish Nightmare Moon to well, the moon.
