Starting with todays... #10 - Ruud Gullit had an enviable professional soccer career. Not only did he wear the famed #10 for AC Milan, but he also contributed to top Europeans clubs such Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, Sampdoria and Chelsea FC. Ruud Gullit started his club career in 1978 signing to play professionally for HFC Haarlem. He also spent time at clubs Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven where he wound up scoring 46 goals in 68 league appearances for the team. Gullit was again named Footballer of the Year in 1986 as he helped PSV capture the Eredivisie crown, a feat they repeated the following year. Following his success he was signed to A.C. Milan in 1987 for a world record transfer fee of 10 million dollars. Strong in the air and on the ground, during his first year as a Rossoneri, Gullit won a League Title. Despite his meniscus and knee injuries he won another two League Titles and numerous cups including two UEFA Champions League and two European/South American Cups. He has also been honored as a member of their Hall of Fame. After winning the Italian Cup for Sampdoria, Gullit transferred to English soccer power house Chelsea FC where he played an important part in the foreign revolution as numerous high profile international stars joined Premiership clubs and helped to increase its worldwide profile.
