Every day, our volunteers go above and beyond their prescribed duties at the Free Clinic, to offer quality, compassionate care. Today, a patient with type 2 diabetes was being treated by one of our volunteers, who observed the patient’s feet were in poor condition and there were holes in his shoes. For most people, a bad shoe day means a blistered heel or painful arch that goes away quickly. But for people with diabetes, poor footwear can trigger serious problems. The volunteer went into action, and connected the patient with a way to obtain a pair of diabetic shoes. Thank you, Free Clinic volunteers, for all that you do!
