Every generation has had to deal with its own level of ridicule, - TopicsExpress

Every generation has had to deal with its own level of ridicule, ranting, criticism, mocker, and being made fun of. Every generation has had younger people tell the older that they were living in the past and certain things they were doing was considered old school. The clothes they were wearing were outdated and out of style. Their hair dos need to be updated. But more than ever, every generation has had to deal with their moral convictions being challenged. Their spiritual convictions being questioned and they way they lived every aspect of their lives under some kind of inspection. Every generation has had that certain group that wanted them to let some body else do their thinking for them and wanted the older ones to fall into subjection of the younger. The music of every generation has had its changes. Over the past century we have gone from Fa-so-la-so to bluegrass, from folk to country, from southern gospel to contemporary, from the bee-bop to hip-hop, from square dancing, to the Charleston, from the jitter bug to the stomp on the bug, and the list could go on. But every generation has its change. On this journey called Life, rest assured, you that are part of the “younger generation”, that in the days ahead, as time ticks by, as the moments add up and turn into hours and hours into days, and before you know it all the years have added up and passed right before your eyes. There will be that group that looks at you and may tell you in one way or another that you are “old school”. You will be one who questions what is going on around you just as some do today. Your clothes style will be laughed at from time to time, unless you give in. Your convictions will be mocked and labeled as either too liberal or way too conservative. It will all be done and the results of a new generation. Twenty years down the road, the “next gen”, will laugh at the old gen. People will do things just to “fit” in. Discipline in the home will continue to change. What is allowed in homes will become more lenient in the guise of keeping arguments down. Peoples ways of thinking will be changed and at times, challenged. That is, unless decisions are made today. Unless lines are drawn and boundaries are clearly explained and enforced. There were lines and boundaries around the home I grew up in. While they were lines that were invisible to the eye, they were very visible to the mind and heart. While they were boundaries without walls, they were like a fort and the walls were hard to scale at times. The 10 commandments were just the foundation of our home and most of the homes we entered. 10 commandments that became building stones for a sure foundation. Yes, there was tolerance, yes there were allowances that had to be made at times, and yes, sometimes that “older generation had some had, tough, guidelines to follow, and yes, that new generation that was coming in did their share of complaining and protesting, after a while a medium was found, but rest assured, there were convictions that were never changed or let up. Convictions that still knew the difference between right and wrong and good from evil. Maybe it was because of the solid foundation that every home, church, school, and business was built upon. In this day and time, could it be that some of the foundations are missing the right reinforcements in it that it needs to make the foundation good, strong, and unmovable....and tomorrow,,,there will be...More to Come...to think about.. Who would have ever thought that when our parents and grand parents were wearing certain clothes styles, today they would be popular. Who would have ever guessed that wearing faded old jeans with holes in them that got many a kid laughed at, would become one of the trending styles of clothes to wear. Yep, like it or not you that are a part of this younger generation, years ahead, you will be part of the “old generation” and there will be those who laugh at you, mock you, and remind you that you are just out of date...
