Every interview panel will ask the dreaded tell us about yourself - TopicsExpress

Every interview panel will ask the dreaded tell us about yourself question. Heres how I would answer that one. Firstly, make sure everything you say is tied to the classroom job you want and keep your answer to a maximum 5 minutes. Where you got your degree or certificate Briefly talk about your teaching experience. Summarize if you have lots of experience; you don’t need to outline every job. If you lack experience, discuss your student teaching time or any other kid-centered activities (volunteering) Highlight a few professional development activities (only a few!) and how they influenced your teaching. Choose ones that are focused on the schools’ current focus (STEM, reading, etc… check their website) Share a tiny bit about your personal interests, but relate it to the job: “I like travel because I can bring those rich experiences back to my classroom.”
