Every now and then, something finds its way into my life in the - TopicsExpress

Every now and then, something finds its way into my life in the most unexpected fashion. I was working a small early birthday party last night at a Rosedale home, casual, last minute. I had no idea of the whos, whats, or whys involved. Then I found out. David McCallum is a black New Yorker who was wrongly incarcerated for a murder he didnt commit at 16 years of age. He was convicted with a false and coerced confession. That was the only evidence against him. Ray Klonsky and Marc Lamy have spent the last 8 years putting together this documentary and fighting for his freedom. They got Rubin Carter involved, who passed away in the spring. Long story short, after an unbelievable journey, I met David McCallum last night and the entire team involved. He was released October 15, 2014, his convocation vacated. Last night he celebrated his first birthday not behind bars in 28 years. I was deeply moved and overwhelmed. An incredibly profound soul. This is his story: davidandme
