The time period - and the particular stirred-up Muslims - he was referring to did indeed culminate in the excising of central Europe from Russias sphere of influence. The current ISIS/Ukraine round of proxy warfare is supposed to remove the remaining countries (Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus).
