Everyday I think about how insanely privileged I am. Im a first world citizen w/higher education and a job. I am living out life in the top 1% of humanity. 99% of people around the world are not this privileged. If I want to go eat something, I can just go get it. Many people in the world dont even have access to clean drinking water. I live in a country where I have freedom. Freedom to do what I want, and follow any religion I want. In other countries people are oppressed and killed for these basic rights we have here in the West. I cannot thank Allah enough everyday. Even if its as little as saying al-hamdulillah (all praise to God) after eating a meal. Its just mind boggling how so many humans live out their lives in such miserable conditions and due to luck or fate or whatever Im living this privileged, sheltered life.
