Excerpt from PlanetWeather newsmagazine 10/14&10/21/13 subscribe at planetweather.net Malala Yousafzai – Fearless Warrior for Girls and Women! Malala Yousafzai began her advocacy for female education and description of life under the Taliban as an anonymous blogger when she was only 11 years old. She is a light being who is wise and courageous beyond her young years. Malala was born on 7/12/97, in Mingaora, Pakistan, in the beautiful and lush Swat valley. Her chart shows her unyielding support for truth and fairness, particularly in the positions of Jupiter and Uranus in Aquarius and Moon and Mars in Libra. Her joy (Jupiter) comes from standing up for the truth (Aquarius) and fighting for equality (Moon/Mars/Libra). She was born with Uranus in its own sign of Aquarius (modern rulership), very strong there – the universal symbol of the rights of all human beings to freedom and dignity. Her Uranus is exactly opposite her Mercury/Leo expressing her heartfelt fearlessness in the face of tyranny. The traditional ruler of Aquarius is Saturn and in Malala’s chart its placed in Aries opposite her Moon/Libra, again showing someone who is older than her years and/or had to grow up faster with more responsibility. She had a “normal” sweet childhood only for a short time. She came up against harsh realities early, when her family (and others) fled their homes after the Taliban threatened the valley with killings and beatings in 2009 and proclaimed that girls were prohibited from attending school. Her father ran the local town school. Malala’s Sun sign is Cancer and her feeling for the rights of women runs strong and leads us back to her Moon conjunct Mars/Libra! On 10/9/12, the Taliban targeted Malala on her way home from school and shot her in the head. She was in a coma. A foreign doctor took pity on her plight and knew she would not survive with the lack of after-care available in Pakistan. She was flown to England and fortunately made a complete recovery. She lives there still with her parents and two younger brothers. On the day of the shooting, the Moon was in late degrees of Cancer and opposite Malala’s Neptune/Capricorn and transiting Mars/Sadge was conjuncting her Pluto/Sadge. In addition, the transiting Uranus/Aries-Pluto/Capricorn square was closing in on her Mars/Libra. Now Malala wants to become a politician to effect the most change, and her idol is Benazir Bhutto, the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan, who was brutally murdered by the Taliban. Her fearlessness is a worldwide inspiration. In her own words she says, “They may kill my body, but they can never kill my cause.” (paraphrased). She was nominated for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize, although she did not win it – this time!
