Excerpt from the WikiFur article on Sergal: Sergal is a fictional species created by Trancy Mick.... People often make the mistake of calling them hybrids, but they are not - they are a species in their own right and not a combination of other animals. They borrow anatomy traits from existing feral Earth creatures, however. They have been described as having canine, avian, raptor, and shark physical attributes. I had been thinking about this rather interesting mythical creature. I was getting lunch today and thought how humanity would treat a walking-upright sergal as a sentient species, especially on the basis of ordering a salad and being able to express a non-threatening visage to the humans preparing the salad (since its important in a civilized society not to frighten the people that prepare your food). I also wondered how far future civilizations would treat the information floating around on the internet about sergals. Its possible that in whats left of the degraded information they have about our culture they may have lost the fact that this species is entirely fictitious. How would that shape their views about our present day cultures, and would they create shows based on this limited knowledge such as Walking with Sergals? Would there be fringe groups that insist that sergals still walk among the people of this future civilization? How would this inspire future storytellers to create new stories about these interesting creatures? And this is just one of the things bubbling in my brain when Im staring off into space not paying attention to anyone around me.
