Exciting Update - Huts for Vets is adding all-female rehabilitation retreats in early 2014. Rehabilitation is at the 10th Mountain Division Huts in the Colorado Rocky Mountains w/350 miles of routes for backcountry skiing, mountain biking, & hiking. Mission: • An unconventional, nature-based approach to PTSD healing beyond traditional therapies, clinics and pharmaceuticals • Rigorous hiking & rustic living in the Colorado wilderness (elev. 8,500-12,000 ft.) • Support & discussions with trained professionals & unstructured conversations w/team members The 10th Mountain Division Huts were created in honor of the U.S. Army, who trained during World War II at Camp Hale in central Colorado for winter survival and skiing. They breached the supposedly impregnable Gothic Line in the Apennines and secured the Po River Valley to play a vital role in the liberation of northern Italy, forcing the Germans to surrender in May 1945.
