(Exodus 1:15 [NET]) The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other Puah, (:16) “When you assist the Hebrew women in childbirth, observe at the delivery: If it is a son, kill him, but if it is a daughter, she may live.” (:17) But the midwives feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them; they let the boys live. (:18) Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and said to them, “Why have you done this and let the boys live?” (:19) The midwives said to Pharaoh, “Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women – for the Hebrew women are vigorous; they give birth before the midwife gets to them!” (:20) So God treated the midwives well, and the people multiplied and became very strong. (:21) And because the midwives feared God, he made households for them. The Midwife : • Always present for the mother-to-be . • She is at her side encouraging her • She is there to help her to hold on and not give up • The midwife is not a share holder in this baby’s affairs but she weats it out for the lady • She is the one who remains sober in the pressure of the mother • She sacrifices her own comfort for the sake of the family • What value does she derive in this whole issue • Her issues of life remain the same notwithstanding these matters • What a difficult to do on earth when you forget yourself to allow someone else to go through with the joy of the blessing of a new life. • They risked their own lives and practice licences to help others to deliver a destiny. Implications for us: • We are the spiritual midwives to help others to bring forth to deliver her destiny even if you will not derive direct benefit thereof. • We labour for the others to get saved and to enjoy the blessing of Gods working in their life! Just to obey God! • V1. We will be rewarded with the needs that we have been secretly asking for from heaven for the extent of our sacrifices in gathering even in a land that doesn’t allow Christian meetings. • As you honour God for the extension of His kingdom He will bless you indeed. (Dan 12:3 [NET]) But the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavenly expanse. And those bringing many to righteousness will be like the stars forever and ever. • As you come to Him into His purpose you will find rest for your souls! All because of His doing for us. (Matt 11:28 [NET])Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matt 11:29 [NET])Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. • The salvation of our souls as a result of our coming to Him and learning from the Lord. (1Pet 1:6 [NET])This brings you great joy, although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials. (1Pet 1:7 [NET])Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold – gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away – and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1Pet 1:8 [NET])You have not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,(1Pet 1:9 [NET) because you are attaining the goal of your faith – the salvation of your souls. • The benefits of sacrifice for the kingdom of heaven!! Matthew 19:29 (NET) And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. • God is not unjust to forget us in view of our sacrifices for His kingdom. (Heb 6:10 [NET])For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints. Praying As A Faithful Midwife For God You Will Be Greatly Rewarded!!!
