Extreme pain can change a person.Sometimes it is very difficult to be yourself when all you can do is just grin and bear it.You can swallow pills that the Doctors gives you and end up with even more problems then before you started.Many of my fellow dialysis patients have become addicted to pain pills and some have had horrible side effects from them.Patience seems to go out the window and small matters seem to explode into anger while the pain suffering person reacts like a wounded dog poked with a stick.Many of the spouses of dialysis patients tell me they just wish they could get there loved one back because now they have turned into an angry person.Unfortunately most of the spouses still treat there mates anger as traditional fighting and not as a side effect of pain or medication.
