FARMING EQUIPMENT FOR BONUAN BOQUIGS FARMERS -- the local government is pushing organic farming in the communities to achieve our vision of a Balon Dagupan, Healthy Dagupan. That is why we recently turned over a vermi-composting equipment along with a solid waste shredder and other equipment to farmer-beneificaries on Barnagay Bonuan Boquig on January 20. In addition, we also provided the farmers shallow tube wells with a 5 HP water pump to assure irrigation water to their lands. This is a cluster project for barangays where we are providing a facility composed of a shredder, vermi-shed and vermi-worms so that farmers can start their community gardening. We are doing this because we would like to go back to the basics of farming which is good for everybody’s health. The city conducted a series of farmer classes where farmers were taught on how to set up and operate a vermi-composting facility. Each household will be encouraged to practice containerized gardening in their backyard to provide them food without buying anymore from the market. (photos by Jojo Tamayo)
