FB is a great way for me NOT to get any work done. I have two projects due in mid-December. Theyll get done, as always, but ... Im always looking for distractions of all kinds while at my computer. (No, Im not gonna provide any details, sorry...) Now, this isnt a distraction. Before I hit the gym (hopefully no nightmarish traffic today), heres sending Andre L some good vibes. He was very upset when he called me a few minutes ago to let me know that, while at Santa Monica Blvd. and La Brea (Hollywood/West Hollywood area), he was verbally attacked by a black guy who called him a white piece of shit, adding that white people should be wiped out of this country. Everyone can heave a sigh of relief, as Im not going to make any sociopolitical proclamations about this. Everyone with a functioning brain knows that racism, like any form of bigotry, is a human -- not a white, or black, or whatever -- disease. So instead, Ill wrap this up by letting yall know that Andre L, currently on the Sunset Strip, just called me again -- two seconds ago -- to say hes feeling much better thanks to: a) Two cute little dogs, one of which had deformed hind legs but remained as playful as could be. b) A woman acting and looking just like Patsy Stone while playing ping pong in the Absolutely Fabulous episode France. c) A strip-club barker who invited him to look at the girls, and who, upon learning that Andre L is into guys, remarked: You could pass [for straight]! If youve watched the Miranda episode Date, youll know how funny this is.
