FCT Safe For Christmas, Elections – CP The commissioner of police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wilson Inalegwu, has assured that the police is ready to ensure hitch-free yuletide celebrations and elections in the FCT, come 2015. Inalegwu solicited for more equipment and better access to logistics to ensure better policing. “Access to logistics can be improved. It will ensure our capacity to deliver,” he said. He made the disclosure while being conferred a Leadership Award by the publisher of Spill Magazine, Mr. Adebayo Edward at the FCT Police Command. Inalegwu said, “We are aware of the prevailing security situation in some parts of the country. To this end, we have improved our capacity to keep crime at its barest minimum. FCT residents should be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. They should go about their activities in a peaceful and lawful manner.” On the elections, Inalegwu disclosed that the police has set up a central operations command domiciled in the FCT Command. He said officers have been retrained on crowd control and other measures needed to ensure hitch-free elections.
