FDRs message was The New Deal...Harry Trumans The Fair Deal...JFKs New Frontier...LBJs Great Society....What did Clinton use?...Obama? Here’s a clue. The flower children of the 1960s, the generation that said, “Don’t trust anybody over 30,” are today’s over-65 age group, and they are voting Republican. Did anybody predict that in the 1970s? Projecting how some demographic group will vote 5, 10, 20 years from now is a fool’s errand. Republican President Hoover won 77% of the Black vote in 1932 - like every GOP President since the Civil War. In 1936, Democrat FDR tallied up 71%, and the majority of African Americans never voted Republican again. Please read this NYtimes article.
