FILIPINO BUSINESS DELEGATION TO VISIT SAUDI ARABIA TO ENHANCE TRADE BETWEEN PHILIPPINES AND SAUDI ARABIA 21 October 2013 – A Filipino business delegation, led by the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), represented by Market Officer Grace L. Demdam from the Bureau of Export Trade Promotions, and private sector representatives from 16 Philippine companies will be visiting Saudi Arabia on October 30 to November 07. Twenty-seven (27) delegates from the fresh and processed food sector and cosmetic/beauty products sector will explore trade opportunities. They will meet with the Chambers of Commerce in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah. The Philippine product lines they will be promoting are: Snack foods, Chocolates, Candies Mixes and condiments, Biscuits and Snacks, Instant Noodles Civet Coffee, Biscuits (Dealo) Agricultural Products, Cavendish Banana Pickles, Preserved Products, coconut, Frozen Fruits, Frozen Vegetables Noodles, Condiments Noodles, Bottled Sweet Preserves, Sauces & Condiments Canned Sardines, Canned Tuna, Dried Fish, Fresh Fish Fruit juices and other food products All natural fresh sausages, fish delis Biscuits, Crackers Novu Hair Topical Scalp, Lotion, Porcelain Whitening Lines, Skinrx Guava Plus, Moringa with Glutathione Beauty/whitening soaps, Creams, Lotions, Facial Toners, shampoos, Glutathione. The companies joining are Universal Robina Corporation, Pasciolco Agri Ventures, Ingca Ent., Kwality Philfood Inc., Amarich Marketing International, Rebisco, Doxo Trading, Florence Foods / Pixcel, GCB Food Products, Q-Phil Products International, Philippine Grocers Food Exports Inc., Fisherfarms Inc., Mica by the Sea, La Pacita Biscuit Inc., Nutramedica, and Refinette Cosmetic Industry. This visit follows the success of the outward business matching mission previously conducted in March 2013, which resulted in total sales amounting to USD 45.4 million, exceeding their target of USD 12 million. Saudi Arabia ranks 31st among the Philippines’ export markets with total exports amounting to USD 85,823,351 in 2012 while it is eighth as a source of imports. END
