This took a number of years to get the Railroad on board but this will be a great improvement for the residents in Ward 7! ___________________________________________________________ Railroad Crossing Improvement on Hughes Lane San Joaquin Valley Railroad will be upgrading the railroad crossing on Hughes Lane between White Lane and Pacheco Road. City crews will be replacing the asphalt once the railroad has completed their work. The project is necessary to upgrade the existing rail and install concrete panels to improve the ride quality through this area. This section of road will be closed to all traffic beginning Tuesday, September 9th at 5:00 AM through Friday, September 12th at 5:00 PM. Motorists are reminded to obey flagging personnel and construction signs and to pay close attention to road construction vehicles and personnel while driving through this area. The City of Bakersfield apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause the traveling public. # # #
