They filed in to their lines in preparation for the march with first sergeant Mitch Nelson appraising them as they prepared to march off to battle. In second platoons tent staff sergeant Kendall was giving a similar speech, slightly more relaxed her platoon had an easier task, they were simply in reserve only her machine gunners were called upon to offer some support. The platoon and finish gathering their gear and was ready to march when lieutenant Adair entered the tent and found her. In the medical tent trooper Robbie Coutts lay on his bed dressed from head to toe as a legion soldier. His bandages had all been removed and padding had been placed over his wounds temporarily until he was to get up and walk into Nelson. How you feeling Rob? Asked Pepper as he sat beside his friend. I feel good Dave, i feel ok Robbie said with a smile theres pain in my side but i feel good, maybe a bit anxious. At that moment lieutenant Adair walked in with Kendall and the others. How about some med-x for the trip said Robbie as he winced. No can do buddy, but we can give you some buffout, itll help with the pain and keep you more alert said Pepper, doc Richards came over with the meds and stood beside sergeant David Peplinski. The doc wrote a letter for me today, when this is all over i need you to deliver it for me said Robbie, David looked over at the doc and then back and his friend, he will give it to you when you come back from Nelson. Dave just nodded as he tried to hold back the tears, Robbie swallow the buffout as the doc held a cup of water to his mouth. Lieutenant Adair put his hand on Peppers shoulder, Pepper looked at him then back at Robbie. Looks like its time to go, but ive got something outside for ya robbie raised his eyebrows. Oh yeah, what is it he asked the slight hint of a smile forming in the corner of his mouth the first peak of smile he had had since before he was shot in the dark tower Lets go and see said Pepper as he stood and grabbed the front left corner of the stretcher, staff sergeant kendal took the front right and the other two soldiers manning the handles by Robbies head and with Pepper calling the commands they lifted the stretcher and carried Robbie to the door, dr Richards opened it and wished Robbie godspeed.
