FIRST SESSION DONE IN JAKARTA The squad completed its first training session in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, with hundreds of fans greeting the side when it arrived for the first time at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. Inside the huge arena, local media were invited in for the early part of the session, speaking to Jose Mourinho before the players emerged from the changing rooms. Conditions in Jakarta, in early evening at least, are more comfortable than Kuala Lumpur, a light breeze making life a little easier for those out on the field, who completed a series of fitness drills before beginning a full-sided game in a confined area. With the goalkeepers all figuring outfield too, it was left to Ashley Cole to provide another of his trademark goal-line clearances, while at the other end Romelu Lukaku continued his goalscoring form, and Branislav Ivanovic rifled in a powerful header from a long John Terry pass and Gary Cahill powered home a half-volley into the bottom corner. At the end of the session, the attacking players and goalkeepers branched off to go through some one-on-one practice, forwards practising specific movements before trying to beat the keeper. Demba Ba and Andre Schurrle both managed to make the net bulge several times with some sharp finishing. There is good news to take forward too, with Frank Lampard completing a solo workout to the side of the other players. It is hoped he may be able to feature on Thursday after missing our first two tour fixtures. With 48 hours until our Indonesian debut, players and fans alike are gearing up nicely.
