The savings are less than 2 percent of the $734 million in overall care provided to about 358,000 patients over the past two years WOMEN’S SHELTER An unfinished, 38-lot townhome subdivision in southeast Rochester is slated to go the auction block later this month. Rochester-based Maas Companies. Inc. will launch the online-only auction of the 20-acre Wildwood Meadows subdivision at 4 p.m. on Aug. 26. Maas handles real estate, industrial and commercial auctions across the country. ART BLITZ Graffiti artists and potters, dancers and drummers, painters and jewelers all overtook one block of Downtown Rochester Saturday evening to share their art and engage the community in the first ever Rochester Art Blitz. EXPLOSION Three days after their home exploded, Salina Tschida and her family sat in the shade of a tree in their front yard, unable to stay away from the boarded up house. Bright orange spray paint spells out “DO NOT ENTER” across one of the boards where walls and windows used to be. A small tree stands unharmed just inches from the destroyed house front. EBOLA LOCALIZED The growing Ebola outbreak in West Africa has put the plans of one local group on hold. For over 10 years, Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester has helped the Compassion Evangelical Hospital in Guinea, Africa, grow. At least once a year, Autumn Ridge sends a team of volunteers to the hospital to provide supplies and expertise. This year, though, the church is postponing the trip.
