FIXING THE BACK : when you are sitting a lot When you are sitting on a chair, there is 40% more pressure on your spine than when you are standing. With pressure of work so much, most of us sit for hours together. We forget to sit straight and are unable to take short breaks or walks. Over the period of time, all that slumping and peering takes its toll. Unused muscles weaken, joints loose their lubrication and the back pain starts nagging you. WHAT TO DO ? ------ Maintain an upright spine as far as possible. Make sure that your chair supports all three natural curves of your spine. Use special support for your lower spine to equally spread the weight to both of your hips. Always try to do some back exercises in the morning.
