FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE TUESDAY NIGHT FOR CENTRAL AND WESTERN AND MASSACHUSETTS. THIS INCLUDES BERKSHIRE, FRANKLIN, HAMDEN, HAMPSHIRE AND WORCESTER COUNTIES. * Multiple waves of showers and thunderstorms will move over southern New England, with the first wave occurring late this afternoon. These storms will contain heavy rainfall, as the airmass is tropical in nature. Storm totals at the end of the event may reach close to 3 inches in the watch region. This watch may be expanded eastward over the next 24 hours. * This rain brings the risk for small stream, urban and poor drainage flash flooding in the watch area. A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
