FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN 1055 AM EDT WED MAY 14 2014 The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood Warning for portions of the following rivers in central and southern Indiana... Driftwood River... East Fork White River... Muscatatuck River... White River... Wabash River... Lowland flooding will develop along rivers in portions of central and southern Indiana. Significant flooding is not expected. Flooding will affect some local and state roads...low agricultural land...river parks and recreational activities. Flooding will begin from tonight through Friday. After a dry start to May...much of central and southern Indiana received an inch or more of rainfall since May 8...especially north and east of Indianapolis and in south central Indiana. Some of these areas have picked up 2 to more than 3 inches of rain since May 8. Additional rainfall of 1 to possibly more than 2 inches is expected by Thursday afternoon. Precautionary/Preparedness Actions... Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Romona Road west of Gosport begins to flood. Flooding of low agricultural land is noticeable.
