FMSCI Press Information: September high on motorsporting events September 1, 2014 Greetings! We would like to bring to your notice that more motorsports action is in store in the month of September, including two rounds of the FMSCI-Indian National TSD Rally Championship, two rounds of the JK Tyre-FMSCI National Rotax Max Karting Championship and the final round action in the closely-contested MMSC-FMSCI National Racing Championship. 1) The month will kick off with Round 3 of the JK Tyre-FMSCI National Rotax Max Karting Championship in Kolhapur between Sept 5 and 7. Krishnaraaj Mahadik of Mohites Racing (Kolhapur) leads the Senior Max championship table with 71 points following his stunning win in Hyderabad in July. Ameya Bafna of Rayo Racing is currently second with 69 points, followed by Vishnu Prasad of Meco Racing and Dhruv Mohite of Mohites Racing, both tied on 65. Kush Maini of Dark Don Racing is on top of the table in Junior Max with 73 points, followed closely by Meco Racing drivers Aaroh Ravindra and Akash Gowda, both on 71. Meanwhile, Shahan Ali Mohsin of Meco Racing heads the table in Micro Max with 75 points, and is trailed closely by teammates Yash Aradhya (73) and Paul Francis (72). SK Ajgar Ali and his navigator MK Md Musthafa took over the lead in the Overall and Expert classes with 53 points following their victory in Round 3 in Bangalore in August after Satish Gopalkrishnan and Savera D’Souza (50 points), winners of the opening two rounds, did not finish their home rally due to mechanical problems. Team Tata Motors’ Chidanand Murthy and BS Sujith Kumar, eyeing their third straight National title in the Stock class, jumped to the lead in their category with 56 points following their win in Bangalore. (For further details about the event, contact Coimbatore Auto Sports Club; Ph: 0422-2380065; casc.cbe@gmail) 3) The fourth round of the MMSC-FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Championship for Group C & Group D will be held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore between Sept 12 and 14. International rider Rajini Krishnan of Moto-Rev will look to extend his dominance in the competitive Group C Open 165cc class after winning both races in the third round in August. Meanwhile, Mithun Kumar bagged a double in the Group D Novice 165cc class in the third round while also winning the second race in the Group D 130cc Novice category. The MMSC One-Make Championship of TVS and Honda will be held alongside. The championship comprises nine rounds in all with the remaining rounds to be held in Baripada, Kolkata, Ranchi and Chennai. (For further details about the event, contact FB Motorsports; +91 98211-18487; faradb@gmail). 5) The fourth round of the MRF MoGrip-FMSCI National Supercross Championship will be held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore on Sept 20 and 21. For further details about the event, contact Godspeed (Pune); +91 98901-68000; shyamkothari@hotmail). 6) The MMSC-FMSCI National Racing Championship heads north for the final round action in the MRF FF1600 single-seater, Indian Touring Cars, Indian Junior Touring Cars, Superstock and the Formula LGB 1300 to be held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida between Sept 26 and 28. Chennai’s Tarun Reddy (199 points) leads the premier MRF FF1600 with three races remaining, with Advait Deodar of Mumbai a close second on 176 points. Vikash Anand (Chennai) is currently third on 116 points. Ajay Kini of Anish Racing sealed the Formula LGB 1300 crown with two races to spare, but it appears to be a tight fight for the second spot between WSRF teammates S Narendran and Gautham Parekh, who are tied on 123 points. Bala Vijay of Performance Racing has a 62-point lead over second-placed Joel Joseph of Gas Monkey Motorsports with three races remaining in the Superstock category. Only seven points separate leader VJ Senthil (Big Foots Racing) and defending champion Feroze Khan (Rad Racing) going into the final two races of the Indian Junior Touring Cars category. Championship leader Arjun Narendran has a commanding 46-point lead of his second-placed Big Foots Racing teammate Ashish Ramaswamy in the Indian Touring Cars category. Toyota Etios Trophy round to be run alongside. The Championship winners will get to participate in the Rotax Grand Finals in the United States.
