FOLLOWING THE SAHABAH AND SALAF And the first (to embrace Islam) of the Muhajiroon and the Ansaar (Sahabah) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith) [thereafter]. Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success. [quran/9/100] So if they believe with the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided, but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allah will suffice you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. [quran/2/137] And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers way, we shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell - what an evil destination. [quran/4/115] The Prophet (ﷺ) said, ...my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects. All of them are in the Fire Except one sect. He was asked, And which is it O Messenger of Allah? He said: What I am upon and my Companions. [sunnah/tirmidhi/40/36] The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “...Verily he among you who lives long will see great controversy, so you must keep to my Sunnah and to the Sunnah of the the rightly guided caliphs. Cling to it stubbornly [literally: with your molar teeth]. Beware of newly invented matters [in the religion], for verily every bid’ah (innovation) is misguidance.” [sunnah/tirmidhi/41/20 & others] The Prophet (ﷺ) said, The best people are those of my generation, and then those who will come after them (the next generation), and then those who will come after them (i.e. the next generation)... [sunnah/bukhari/81/18]
