FOOD FOR THE CHARIOTS SUNDAY 12 JULY, 2014 THEME: EXERMINE YOUR HEART FOR THE LORD SCRIPTURE REF. Luke 10:27 He answered, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself. Loving God is deeper than just what we proclaims these day. Our love for God is determine by what we do for Him and how we do it. The criteria for determining your love for Him is measured by your heart. Our scripture today says love the Lord with all your heart.... Does that mean we can love God without our hearts or all of our heart? To love God with all of our heart means we should partake in all the acts and services we render to Him with love and not in compulsion and this love must come from our heart fully. Our primary reason why we are on this earth first and for most is for his glory. God wants to derived His glory from everything we do as His children. There is a trend that must be corrected, that even in His house when the saints gather to offer Him what is due Him (praise worship) we do it any how. The choristers sings according to their own desire, the other church workers does their work with pride whiles the congregation pleases themselves with gentility. Today, even lifting up of our hands to glorify Him during church worship becomes difficult. Even if we would do it, we do it the way we want forgetting that God do not accept everything and for that matter, He has a standard. Its deadly to sarve God any how, stop such a practice and give all to Him. In 2 Chronicles 25:2, a story was told about Amaziah who was king of Judah, and was said to have done what was right in the sight of the Lord but not with his whole heart. And he did right in the sight of the Lord, yet not with a whole heart. 2 Chr. 25 But in contrast to Amaziah, who had less than a wholehearted commitment to Gods will, we can consider such ones as Joshua and Caleb. None of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob; for they did not follow Me fully, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have followed the LORD fully. (Numbers 32:11,12). See the contrast? Amaziah followed the Lord, but not with a whole heart, but Joshua and Caleb followed the Lord fully. Jesus said these people worship me with their lips but their hearts are far away from me Matthew 15:8. The question now is, are you among those who worship with their lips?, are you like Amaziah who did his duty without his heart or you are like Caleb and Joshua Who gave all to God. Beloved, today brings a good opportunity for you to make a corrections as to how you worship the Lord your God. As you go to the house of God today, be like David who proved to God that he is indeed after His Heart by dancing without any formular. May your acts of worship today be a memorial before the Lord in Jesus name. PRAYER POINTS 1. Worship God with hymns songs and spirutual songs 2.
