FOOD FOR THE CHARIOTS TUESDAY 25TH NOVEMBER, 2014 THEME: STOP THE CONCIOUS SIN, ITS DANGEROUS, SCRIPTURE: 2 Peter 2:19-22 ( emphases on 21-22) It would have been much better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than to know it and then turn away from the sacred command that was given them. 22 What happened to them shows that the proverbs are true: A dog goes back to what it has vomited and A pig that has been washed goes back to roll in the mud. The slogan of once saved always saved, must be carefully considered. Our misunderstanding of the scripture the salvation is by grace through faith not of works Ephesians 2:8 , have made many christians today giving their lives to concious (deliberate, intentional ) sins. The assumption that, once we confessed Jesus, it doesnt matter what we do, we would still make it to the kingdom of God, its a lie from the pit of hell. This I believed is a wrong doctrine masterminded by the devil to steal many christians with him on that faithful day. To deliberately and intentionally do a wrong things is the concious sins we are refering to. All of us as christians were in a particular lifestyles before we were saved from the world and we are expected to make concious efforts to overcome them as we walk the christian life through faith and the grace of God available for us. As we take steps to become like the christ, we may still struggle with that until we are perfect like Him. Since it was a habit, it may take sometime before you would finally givemit up. So it becomes a process. This is the type of Christians most of us are and we are regarded as unconcious sinners as Apostle Paul said in Romans 7:15 For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. But People who claimed they received Jesus and still swims in their past sins without regret are the concious sinners and must be careful. Hebrews 10: 26 For if we deliberately continue to sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but only the terrifying prospect of Judgment, or raging fire that will consume the enemies. The above Scripture is not referring to those unclean bondages that dwell in our flesh but to the conscious choices believers make. It refers not to our unintentional sins but to those we pursue knowingly and willingly. How many of todays believers behave in a way they know is sinful and yet they go ahead and do what they feel like doing, anyway? Thats because they mistakenly think Divine grace covers intentional sin. That is a huge misconception! Divine grace has made wonderful provision for unintentional sin. But there is no provision for intentional sin. Deliberate, premeditated sin is willful disobedience and rebellion against God. It results in severe punishment or even loss of our salvation. Revelation 3: 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. To be lukewarm means to be entangled with things against His will and they are considerd as sin. He loves us, but no sin is acceptable to Him, no matter how great or small. Like a loving parent, He will allow us to learn from our mistakes and forgive, but there comes a time when He will draw the line if we continue to rebel. Fellow saints, christ expects us to be like Him and the father who is holy as He said in Matthew 5: 48. You therefore be perfect as your Father in heaven who is perfect. As you are reading this today, the Lord is speaking to you. Do not listen to the twisted truths that they are saying, strive to live in holiness. As you make steps, may God strengthen you and given you peace. PRAYER Father help my backsliding and give me grace to stand as a true soldier of the lord.
