FOOD FOR THOUGHT: John 13:34-35; A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another. Lets think deeply about these two verses. I would like to believe that God will give us guidance and more insight into His Word, His will, His opinion or perspective. What is God saying to all of us, His Church, through His Scriptures. What is the Church? Who are disciples? Brother or sister, i am layman. I did not go to any bible school or school of ministry. In the circumstances, i will define these two in laymans language. Church are people, believers, whose headship and foundation is Jesus Christ, and they only form a part of His body. Disciples are followers of Jesus Christ and form a part of the Church, which is the Body of Christ. So, Jesus Christ is commanding us, who? believers, disciples, Christians, His Church, etc, to love one another. Why? Because the God of the Bible is Love. 1 John 4:7-8 says, Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love, does not know God because God is love. 1 John 4:20-21 says, If anyone says i love God, yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And He has given us this command: whoever loves God must also love his brother. 1 John 3:16-18 says, This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. Brother or sister, man or woman of God, how are we building on Christs foundation. What is it that is motivating us to do what we are doing? Are we preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ out of motives like envy, rivalry, selfish ambition, not sincere, etc or we are doing so out of LOVE, knowing that we are put here for the defence of the gospel. (Philippians 1:15-16). The world is more than ready to convert to Christianity in tens of thousands. The world is looking for one sign before they can enter into a relationship and fellowship with God Eternal: The sign they are waiting for is: CHRISTIANS LOVING ONE ANOTHER. Meanwhile they have made a decision to sit on the fence until love is manifesting among the priesthood of believers. Why am i saying this? Because it is written that all men will know that we are His disciples, if we love one another. The word all men will know means the whole world will know that we are Christians if we love one another. The world is sick and sick and sick and tired of its way of life. The world want to convert to Christianity and enjoy true salvation, deliverance, blessings, joy, peace, etc. But they are observing us , who? Christians from a distance, and are seeing all the divisions, envy, jealousy, competition, selfish ambition, rivalry, self centredness, not sincere, without love, not repentant; lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, ungrateful, unholy, unforgiving, slanderous, without self control, etc, * Oh Lord, have mercy on us. We have let you down as Your Church. We have grieved Your Holy Spirit. Please God, forgive us. Convict us by the Holy Spirit in regard to sin, righteousness and judgement. We renounce sin, confess and repent of it as Your Church. Forgive our sins Lord and purify us from all unrighteousness. Please God do not leave us in a position whereby we become a hindrance or stumbling block to those who would want to come in from the world into Your kingdom. Give us a new beginning Oh Lord. Restore us fully Lord. Fill us anew with Your Holy Spirit. Give us a fresh annointing Oh Lord. Help us to grow in that annointing Lord. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen. *** We are not known that we are Christians because our names have been recorded in the church families registers; Nor are we known that we are Christians because we carry big Bibles, we put on church uniform, we hold positions in the church, etc, No!!! This is good yes, but first things first. Lets fulfil Gods commandment by loving one another. The moment we make a choice to love one another and stop condemning each other, and stop pursuing the divide the church and rule tactics, we will find out that soul winning will become very easy. God will add tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of new souls to the church families universally. 1 Peter 4:8 says that love covers over a multitude of sins. So if we love each other deeply, its easy to ignore minor offenses and work together in soul winning. In Galatians 5:6 God made it clear that He wants our faith towards Him to express itself in love. Why? Because He is love. This meditation is for the glory of God.
